House File 474 AN ACT TO DESIGNATE AUGUST 7 OF EACH YEAR AS PURPLE HEART DAY. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF IOWA: Section 1. NEW SECTION . 1C.16 Purple Heart Day. The governor of this state is hereby requested and authorized to issue annually a proclamation designating the seventh day of August as Purple Heart Day and to encourage all governmental bodies in the state to observe the day in a manner that honors the sacrifice of those men and women who shed their
