1.
NEW
SECTION
.

Nursing
education
grant
1
program
——
fund.
2
1.
A
nursing
education
grant
program
is
established
for
the
3
purpose
of
providing
grants
to
accredited
private
nonprofit
4
colleges
and
universities
in
this
state
to
fund
clinical
5
education
for
students
in
nursing
education
programs.
Subject
6
to
an
appropriation
of
moneys
for
purposes
of
this
section,
the
7
college
student
aid
commission
shall
administer
the
program.

2.
The
commission
shall
distribute
moneys
contained
in
the
9
nursing
education
grant
fund
created
in
subsection
3
as
grants
10
to
accredited
private
nonprofit
colleges
and
universities
in
11
this
state
for
the
establishment,
expansion,
or
enhancement
of
12
clinical
education
for
students
in
nursing
education
programs.

Permitted
uses
of
grant
funds
received
through
the
program
14
shall
include
but
are
not
limited
to
funding
the
cost
of
15
personnel
and
equipment
necessary
to
establish,
expand,
or
16
enhance
such
clinical
education.
The
commission
shall
develop
17
a
grant
application;
selection,
evaluation,
and
award
amount
18
criteria;
and
applicable
procedures
and
timelines
for
the
19
program.

3.
A
nursing
education
grant
fund
is
established
in
the
21
state
treasury
under
the
control
of
the
commission.
Moneys
22
credited
to
the
fund
are
appropriated
to
the
commission
for
23
purposes
of
distributing
grants
under
this
section.
The
24
commission
may
accept
gifts,
grants,
bequests,
and
other
25
private
contributions,
as
well
as
state
or
federal
moneys,
for
26
deposit
in
the
fund.
Moneys
available
in
the
fund
for
a
fiscal
27
year
shall
be
distributed
as
grants
pursuant
to
this
section.
28
Notwithstanding
section
8.33,
moneys
in
the
fund
at
the
close
29
of
the
fiscal
year
shall
not
revert
but
shall
remain
available
30
for
expenditure
for
the
purposes
designated
for
subsequent
31
fiscal
years.

The
commission
shall
adopt
rules
pursuant
to
chapter
17A
33
to
administer
this
section.

bill
