  1  1    Section 1.  Section 483A.8C, subsection 1, Code 2018, is
  1  2 amended to read as follows:
  1  3    1.  A nonambulatory person who is a resident may be issued
  1  4 one any sex deer hunting license which is valid and may be used
  1  5  to hunt deer with a shotgun or a muzzleloading rifle during
  1  6 any established deer hunting season using the method of take
  1  7 authorized by rule for each season being hunted. If the tag is
  1  8 filled during one of the seasons, the license will not be valid
  1  9 in subsequent seasons. A person who applies for a license
  1 10 pursuant to this section shall complete a form, as required
  1 11 by rule, that is signed by a physician who verifies that the
  1 12 person is nonambulatory.
  1 13                           EXPLANATION
  1 14 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with
  1 15 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly.
  1 16    This bill changes the weapons requirements for nonambulatory
  1 17 hunters.
  1 18    Currently, a nonambulatory hunter may only use a shotgun or a
  1 19 muzzleloading rifle while using an any sex deer hunting license
  1 20 during any established deer hunting season.
  1 21    The bill allows a nonambulatory hunter to use the weapon
  1 22 authorized for taking deer in the season being hunted while
  1 23 using an any sex deer hunting license during any established
  1 24 deer hunting season.
