1.
Section
279.8B,
subsection
2,
Code
2022,
is

amended
to
read
as
follows:

2.
The
board
of
directors
of
the
school
district
shall

provide
sufficient
time
to
receive
public
comment
on
the
4
proposal.
The
Subject
to
section
279.8C,
the
board
shall
allow
5
each
interested
member
of
the
public
to
speak
at
the
meeting
6
regarding
the
proposal,
but
may
impose
a
time
limit
on
the
7
amount
of
time
a
member
of
the
public
is
allowed
to
speak
if
the
8
time
limit
is
the
same
for
each
speaker
and
necessary
due
to
9
the
amount
of
people
wishing
to
speak.

The
board
of
directors
of
a
school
district
may
restrict
the

persons
who
provide
public
comments
during
regular
meetings

and
special
meetings
of
the
board
of
directors
of
the
school

district
to
persons
who
are
either
the
parent
or
guardian
of
a
16
student
enrolled
in
the
school
district
or
a
person
who
resides
17
within
the
boundaries
of
the
school
district.

this

general

This
bill
relates
to
meetings
of
the
boards
of
directors
of

school
districts.

bill
authorizes
the
board
of
directors
of
a
school

district
to
restrict
the
persons
who
provide
public
comments

during
regular
meetings
and
special
meetings
to
persons
who
26
are
either
the
parent
or
guardian
of
a
student
enrolled
in
the
27
school
district
or
a
person
who
resides
within
the
boundaries

of
the
school
district.

bill
makes
conforming
changes
to
Code
section
279.8B
