Section
1.
Section
139A.8,
subsection
4,
Code
2024,
is

amended
by
adding
the
following
new
paragraph:

c.
Information
regarding
exemptions
and

the
requirements
for
an
exemption
under
this
subsection
4
shall
be
included
in
any
public
communication
following
the
5
recommendation
of
an
immunization
by
the
department
pursuant
to
6
subsection
2,
shall
be
included
in
any
communication
regarding
7
immunizations
to
a
parent
or
legal
guardian
from
a
school
nurse
8
as
defined
in
section
256.11,
and
shall
be
published
on
the
9
internet
sites
of
and
included
in
registration
documentation
10
for
all
elementary
schools,
secondary
schools,
and
licensed
11
child
care
centers.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
14
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
amends
Code
section
139A.8
(immunization
of
16
children)
to
require
that
information
regarding
exemptions
17
and
the
requirements
for
an
exemption
shall
be
included
in
18
any
public
communication
following
the
recommendation
of
an
19
immunization
by
the
department
of
health
and
human
services,
20
shall
be
included
in
any
communication
regarding
immunizations
21
to
a
parent
or
legal
guardian
from
a
school
nurse,
and
shall
be
22
published
on
the
internet
sites
of
and
included
in
registration
23
documentation
for
all
elementary
schools,
secondary
schools,
24
and
licensed
child
care
centers.
