Section 483A.8C, subsection 1, Code 2018, is 1 2 amended to read as follows: 1 3 1. A nonambulatory person who is a resident may be issued 1 4 one any sex deer hunting license which is valid and may be 1 5 used to hunt deer witha shotgun or a muzzleloading rifleany 1 6 firearm, bow and arrow, or other hunting weapon authorized for 1 7 hunting deer pursuant to this chapter during any established 1 8 deer hunting season. A person who applies for a license 1 9 pursuant to this section shall complete a form, as required 1 10 by rule, that is signed by a physician who verifies that the 1 11 person is nonambulatory. 1 12 EXPLANATION 1 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 1 14 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. 1 15 This bill changes the weapons requirements for nonambulatory 1 16 hunters. 1 17 Currently, nonambulatory hunters may only use a shotgun or a 1 18 muzzleloading rifle while using an any sex deer hunting license 1 19 during any established deer hunting season. 1 20 The bill allows nonambulatory hunters to use any firearm, 1 21 bow and arrow, or other hunting weapon authorized for hunting 1 22 deer pursuant to Code chapter 483A while using an any sex deer 1 23 hunting license during any established deer hunting season.
