SENATE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
urging the University of Hawaii to include community college students within the assignment priorities for student housing services on four-year campuses that offer student housing.
WHEREAS, student housing at four-year colleges can be a valuable means of helping students to achieve success; and
WHEREAS, the University of Hawaii at Manoa student housing assignment priorities and University of Hawaii at Hilo housing terms of assignment both identify a set of four priorities in which they strive to accommodate a diverse array of students; and
WHEREAS, community college students are not listed among the University of Hawaii at Manoa's student housing assignment priorities list; and
WHEREAS, the University of Hawaii at Hilo's housing terms of assignment does not differentiate eligibility between University of Hawaii at Hilo and Hawaii Community College students; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the Thirtieth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2020, the House of Representatives concurring, that the University of Hawaii is urged to include community college students within the assignment priorities for student housing services on four-year campuses that offer student housing; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Chair of the Board of Regents and President of the University of Hawaii.
