A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to hunting.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 183D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§183D-    Pet animals prohibited in public hunting areas.  (a)  No owner shall allow a pet animal, except a pet animal intended to be used in hunting game birds and mammals, to enter a public hunting area.

     (b)  As used in this section:

     "Pet animal" shall have the same meaning as defined in section 711-1100.

     "Public hunting area" shall have the same meaning as defined in section 183D-4."

     SECTION 2.  This Act does not affect rights and duties that matured, penalties that were incurred, and proceedings that were begun before its effective date.

     SECTION 3.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
