A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO EARLY LEARNING.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds for the executive office on early learning to enter into contracts with third-party providers for family-child interaction learning organizations to develop and implement programs that support families to take an active role in the social, emotional, and cognitive development of their young children, as part of a mixed-delivery early childhood system.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $         or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2017-2018 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2018-2019 for the executive office on early learning to enter into contracts with third-party providers for family-child interaction learning organizations to develop and implement programs that support families to take an active role in the social, emotional, and cognitive development of their young children, as part of a mixed-delivery early childhood system.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the executive office on early learning for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2051.
