A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to CITATION quotas.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 291C, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§291C- Citation quotas prohibited. No law enforcement agency in the State, including the county police departments, shall require its officers to issue a specific number of citations within a designated period of time; provided that this section shall not affect the conditions of any federal or state grants or funds awarded to the State or counties and used to fund traffic enforcement programs."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
