A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The legislature finds that the performance of work by university employees is a matter of statewide concern pursuant to article X, section 6, of the Hawaii State Constitution.

     SECTION 2.  Chapter 304A, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part III to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§304A-    Annual report; employees working outside of the State.  No later than December 31 of each year, the university shall submit an annual report to the legislature of all university employees who performed work from a location outside of the State for more than sixty consecutive days during the applicable year.  The report shall include, for each employee who performed work from a location outside of the State, the position, position description, salary range, and duration of time spent performing work from a location outside of the State."

     SECTION 3.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
