A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the 12th senatorial district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2010-2011:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Central middle school, Oahu
Design and construction for structural repairs and restoration of buildings A, B, and C due to termite damage.

Construction 1,990,000
Total Funding $ 2,000,000
B. William McKinley high school, Oahu
Design, construction, and equipment for the renovation of building W, ground and site improvements, and appurtenances.
Construction $ 9,000,000
Equipment 100,000
Total Funding $ 9,100,000
Design, construction, and equipment for expansion of the cafeteria, ground and site improvements, and appurtenances.
Design $ 250,000
Construction 2,500,000
Equipment 100,000
Total Funding $ 2,850,000
C. Victoria Kaiulani elementary school, Oahu
Americans with Disabilities Act transition accessibility.
Total Funding $ 475,000
2. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. Cathedral Church of St. Andrew, Oahu
Renovation and restoration of Davies Hall to serve as a central community resource center. Project qualifies as a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

Design 350,000
Construction 950,000
Total Funding $ 1,500,000
B. Hawaii Theatre Center, Oahu
Equipment to upgrade sound and light technology. Project qualifies as a grant, pursuant to chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

C. State capitol building, Oahu
Design and construction to upgrade the water circulation system and to replace the lining system in the reflecting pools.

Construction 7,899,000
Total Funding $ 7,900,000
3. To be expended by the department of human services:
A. Pacific Gateway Center, Oahu
Improvements including window replacement, flooring, ceilings, wall insulation and painting, millwork and carpenter, plumbing, electrical, and kitchen equipment. Project qualifies as a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

Equipment 300,000
Total Funding $ 700,000
B. Waikiki Community Center, Oahu
Construction costs for roof repair, gutter replacement and installation, and painting of three buildings in the complex that houses five nonprofit agencies, including Waikiki Health Center's main health clinic. Project qualifies as a grant pursuant to chapter 42F, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

4. To be expended by the Hawaii housing finance and development corporation:
A. Senior Residence at Iwilei, Oahu
Construction of a one hundred and sixty unit affordable elderly rental apartment project.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act. SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2010.
