A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to wireless carriers.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. Chapter 269, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:
"§269- Telecommunications carrier service contracts; service charge list requirement. (a) Any telecommunications carrier offering wireless service to customers shall list all service charges that a customer may be subject to when providing a contract for postpaid services.
(b) The list of service charges shall be part of the contract and shall be in at least twelve-point font.
(c) For purposes of this section, "postpaid services" means services for which a customer is regularly billed after the fact according to the customer's use of the services during the corresponding billing period."
SECTION 2. New statutory material is underscored.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
