A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to A STUDY OF housing PROGRAMS.
BE IT
ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. (a) The auditor shall conduct a study of ohana zoning programs and auxiliary dwelling unit programs at the state and county level.
(b) The study shall include:
(1) The histories of the ohana and auxiliary dwelling unit programs;
(2) The number of units that have been created under each program; and
(3) The projected number of units that will be created under each program.
(c) The auditor shall submit a report of the results of the study, including any proposed legislation, to the legislature no later than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2023.
SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
