A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Relating to veterinary medicine.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 471, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§471-    Requirement to make copies of previously written prescriptions available free of charge.  Upon request by the owner of an animal, a copy of any prescription that a veterinarian has previously prescribed to the animal shall be made available by the veterinarian to the owner free of charge."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
