A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO INVASIVE SPECIES.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $74,350 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2011-2012 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2012-2013 to implement and effectuate a program created by the department of tropical plant and soil sciences of the University of Hawaii college of tropical agriculture and human resources to produce sterile forms of invasive and potentially invasive ornamental plant species commonly used in Hawaii landscapes.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the University of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2011.
