A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Relating to conservation.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to protect Hawaii's natural resources and to promote collaboration among state agencies.

     SECTION 2.  Section 183C-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending the definitions of "land" and "landowner" to read as follows:

     "Land" means all real property, fast or submerged, and all interests therein, including fauna, flora, minerals, and all such natural resources, unless otherwise expressly provided[.], except land owned by a state department or its subdivision.

     "Landowner" means an owner of land or any estate or interest in that land[.], except if the owner of land or any estate or interest in the land is a state department or its subdivision."

     SECTION 3.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.


     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
