A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO PROMOTING PROSTITUTION.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 712-1202, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (2) to read as follows:

     "(2)  Promoting prostitution in the first degree is a class [B] A felony."

     SECTION 2.  Section 712-1203, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (2) to read as follows:

     "(2)  Promoting prostitution in the second degree is a class [C] B felony."

     SECTION 3.  Section 712-1204, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (2) to read as follows:

     "(2)  Promoting prostitution in the third degree is a [misdemeanor.] class C felony."

     SECTION 4.  This Act does not affect rights and duties that matured, penalties that were incurred, and proceedings that were begun before its effective date.

     SECTION 5.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 6.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
