HOUSE CONCURRENT
RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF STATE LAND located in the kakaako community development district and identified as Tax Map Key: (1) 2-1-51-14.
WHEREAS, the Legislature acknowledges the need to explore opportunities to expand affordable housing in the State; and
WHEREAS, the Magoon Estate has expressed an interest in purchasing property identified as Tax Map Key: (1) 2-1-51-14, which is controlled by the Hawaii Community Development Authority; and
WHEREAS, the appraised value of the subject land is $ ; and
WHEREAS, the appraisal report was prepared by John Child & Company, Inc. on March 15, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the Legislature does not know of any plans by the Magoon Estate to develop the subject land; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Community Development Authority believes that the sale of the subject property presents an opportunity to subsequently purchase parcels identified as Tax Map Key: (1) 2-1-51-10, (1) 2-1-51-11, and (1) 2-1-51-12, which may be used to develop an affordable housing project or support a housing first program; and
WHEREAS, section 171-64.7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, requires the state department or agency proposing to sell or gift state lands to submit for introduction to the Legislature a concurrent resolution for review of the proposed sale or gift of state lands; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Twenty-sixth Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2011, the Senate concurring, that the Hawaii Community Development Authority is hereby authorized to sell the state-controlled land identified as Tax Map Key: (1) 2-1-51-14, pursuant to section 171-64.7, Hawaii Revised Statutes; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that certified copies of this Concurrent Resolution be transmitted to the Executive Director of the Hawaii Community Development Authority, the Chairperson of the Board of Land and Natural Resources, and the Administrator of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs.
