A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING to CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE FOURTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2017-2018:

     1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Pahoa elementary school, Hawaii

Construction for a new cafeteria and administration building.

Construction                          $9,000,000

          Total funding                         $9,000,000

     B.   Pahoa high and intermediate school, Hawaii

Plans, design, construction, and equipment for a covering for the middle school playcourt.

          Plans                                   $100,000

          Design                                  $100,000

          Construction                            $500,000

          Equipment                               $300,000

          Total funding                         $1,000,000

     C.   Pahoa high and intermediate school, Hawaii

Plans, design, construction, and equipment for a covered walkway from the cafeteria to the upper portables.

          Plans                                    $30,000

          Design                                   $30,000

          Construction                            $150,000

          Equipment                                $90,000

          Total funding                           $300,000

     D.   Pahoa high and intermediate school, Hawaii

Plans, design, construction, and equipment for a covered courtyard next to the gym.

          Plans                                    $10,000

          Design                                   $10,000

          Construction                             $50,000

          Equipment                                $30,000

          Total funding                           $100,000

     E.   Pahoa high and intermediate school, Hawaii

Plans, design, construction, and equipment to upgrade the track field.

          Plans                                 $1,500,000

          Equipment                             $4,500,000

          Total funding                        $15,000,000

     2.   To be expended by the county of Hawaii:

     A.   Highway 130 bypass road, Puna, Hawaii

          Construction of a bypass road between Milo Street and Hawaiian Paradise Park as an alternate to Highway 130.

          Construction                         $15,000,000

          Total funding                        $15,000,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2017.
