A BILL FOR AN ACT


 

 

relating to tourism.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  No later than December 31, 2012, all signs currently identifying state landmarks, as determined by the state and the Hawaii Visitors and Conventions Bureau, shall be replaced with signs that convey interpretive information.

     For purposes of this Act, "signs that convey interpretive information" means signage erected to provide information to the public on the environmental, historic, cultural, or other values of a building, site, or landmark.

     SECTION 2.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
