A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII COMMUNITY COLLEGES.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 304A-1101, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (b) to read as follows:

     "(b)  The purposes of community colleges shall be to provide:

     (1)  Two-year college transfer and general education programs;

     (2)  Two- and four-year career and technical education programs;

     (3)  Semiprofessional, career and technical, and continuing education programs; [and]

     (4)  The four-year educational programs offered pursuant to section 304A-102; and

    [(4)  Such other] (5)  Other educational programs and services as may be appropriate to [such] those institutions."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
