A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE THIRTY-eighth REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2019-2020:

     1.  To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   August Ahrens elementary school, Oahu

          Design and construction for improvements to the current parking lot and the addition of a new parking lot; and ground and site improvements.

          Design                                   $300,000

          Construction                           $1,750,000

          Total funding                          $2,050,000

     B.   Honowai elementary school, Oahu

          Design and construction for covered walkways in multiple areas; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                                   $200,000

          Construction                           $1,000,000

          Total funding                          $1,200,000

     C.   Waipahu high school, Oahu

Construction for phase one and two of a new integrated academic classroom building; and ground and site improvements.

          Construction                          $20,000,000

          Total funding                         $20,000,000

     D.   Waipahu high school, Oahu

Design and construction to re-key the locks on the exterior doors campus-wide.

          Design                                    $30,000

          Construction                             $165,000

          Total funding                            $195,000

     E.   Waipahu high school, Oahu

Construction for phase two of the campus-wide exterior painting of buildings.

          Construction                             $380,000

          Total funding                            $380,000

     F.   Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu

Design and construction to complete a new DREAMS building for digital media, robotics, engineering, animation, music, and science classes; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                                   $350,000

          Construction                          $24,650,000

          Total funding                         $25,000,000

     G.   Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu

Design for the development and improvement of the lower campus.

          Design                                   $250,000

          Total funding                            $250,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
