A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to a constitutional convention.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Article XVII, section 2, of the Constitution of the State of Hawaii provides that the legislature may submit to the electorate at any general or special election the question, "Shall there be a convention to propose a revision of or amendments to the Constitution?"

     The purpose of this Act is to provide for the submission of the question to be placed on the ballot at the general election of 2014.

     SECTION 2.  The question to be printed on the ballot shall be as follows:

"Shall there be a convention to propose a revision of or amendments to the Constitution?"

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
