A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO HEALTH.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 8, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§8-    Hawaii substance abuse prevention, treatment and recovery month.  The month of September shall be known and designated as "Hawaii Substance Abuse Prevention, Treatment and Recovery Month" to promote public awareness of substance abuse as a significant societal, public health, and general welfare problem and to promote recovery from abuse and addiction."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
