A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the seventh representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2009-2010:
1. To be expended by the Department of Education
A. Holualoa Elementary School
ADA transition accessibility $ 375,000
Electrical upgrade 825,000
Total funding $ 1,200,000
B. Honokaa High School
Architectural barrier removal $ 1,991,000
Total funding $ 1,991,000
C. Kealakehe Elementary
Additional parking $ 600,000
Playfield and retention basin 2,500,000
Total funding $ 3,100,000
D. Kealakehe Intermediate
Special education trailer $ 700,000

E. Waikoloa Elementary
Electrical upgrade $ 500,000

3. To be expended by the department of transportation:
A. Traffic operational improvements to existing intersections and highway facilities, Hawaii. (Queen Kaahumanu highway intersection improvements at Kawaihae road, Hawaii.)

B. Emergency earthquake and rock fall repairs to various road facilities, Hawaii. (Unit 1 route 250, Kohala mountain road, M.P. 207 & 7.0)(unit 2, route 11, Mamalahoa highway, M.P. 108.8 to 117.6, route 19, Kawaihae road/ Queen Kaahumanu highway, M.P. 64.2 to 73.3.)

5. To be expended by the county of Hawaii:
A. Waimea water treatment plant reservoir
Five million gallon reservoir at Waimea treatment plant.

6. To be expended by the department of agriculture:
Waimea transfer ditch improvements, Hawaii.

7. To be expended by Hawaii community college:
University of Hawaii center in West Hawaii
Relocation from rented space Kealakehe to Palamanui.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated agencies for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
