A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE TENTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2019-2020:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Lahainaluna high school, Maui
Design and construction to reroof buildings; and ground and site improvements.
Design $50,000
Construction $310,000
Total funding $360,000
B. Lahainaluna high school, Maui
Purchase of five school buses.
Total funding $300,000
C. Princess Nahienaena elementary school, Maui
Construction to repaint the exteriors of buildings 1, 2, and 7; and ground and site improvements.
Construction $225,000
Total funding $225,000
D. Princess Nahienaena elementary school, Maui
Construction to replace the irrigation system in the playfield; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.
Construction $225,000
Total funding $225,000
2. To be expended by the department of land and natural resources:
A. Maalaea small boat harbor, Maui
Plans, design, and construction for pier improvements; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.
Plans $1,000
Design $1,000
Construction $3,723,000
Total funding $3,725,000
3. To be expended by the department of transportation:
A. Honoapiilani highway, Maui
Plans, materials, construction, and equipment to extend the Lahaina bypass road from north Keawe street to beyond Puukolii road; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.
Total funding $40,000,000
4. To be expended by the university of Hawaii:
A. University of Hawaii Maui college, Maui
Design of a culinary education building; and ground and site improvements.
Total funding $400,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
