A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO SANITATION.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 321, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§321-    Shopping centers; public restroom requirements; rules.  (a)  The department of health shall adopt rules pursuant to chapter 91 requiring all shopping centers with twenty or more retail or commercial establishment tenants to provide restrooms for public use.

     (b)  As used in this subsection, "shopping center" means a group of retail and other commercial establishments that are planned, developed, owned, and managed as a single property."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2017.
