A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Ed Carson; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ed Carson is recognized for his outstanding achievements in 2011 as Coroner for
Oconee County; and
WHEREAS,
he is only one of two coroners in the state who is a certified Medico Legal
Death Investigator, which required a five-day course aimed to give death scene
investigators more education, training, and an opportunity to sit for the
certification exam with more than 300 hours of death scene work vested;
and
WHEREAS,
an active member in his community, Mr. Carson is involved with Emergency Medical
Services and recently coordinated a Parents Reducing Injuries and Driver Error
(PRIDE) training course in the community where more than 30 parents and youths
were educated; and
WHEREAS,
always attending certification training to improve his knowledge and gather
resources, Mr. Carson is a certified child passenger safety technician
instructor and an asset to the Oconee County CFR Committee; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Carson has been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role
that he has played in community leadership and his deep personal commitment to
the citizens of his community and the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of
this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
the exemplary service provided by Ed Carson to his community and the State of
Georgia and commend him on his many outstanding
achievements.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ed Carson.
