A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Sarah Clark; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Sarah Clark is an outstanding second grade student attending Macedonia Elementary School in Canton, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Sarah is a Level 3 USA gymnast at Northwinds Gymnastics in Alpharetta, Georgia, and recently earned the championship title in the All-Around competition; and

WHEREAS, the daughter of proud parents Harriet and Randall Clark, Sarah competed in five gymnastic meets throughout Georgia during the Fall of 2009; and

WHEREAS, to earn her championship title in the All-Around competition, Sarah finished first place in the floor competition with a score of 9.25, placed second on the bars with a score of 9.35, earned second on the beam with a score of 9.30, and finished seventh on the vault with a score of 9.10; and

WHEREAS, with an impressive score of 37.00, she tied for first place and was named All-Around champion; and

WHEREAS, she has proven herself to be a talented and accomplished athlete, and through her dedication, hard work, and extraordinary accomplishments, she stands as a shining example for other young people in this state to follow; and

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks forward with great anticipation to the promising and bright future of this remarkable young citizen.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize Sarah Clark for her fantastic athletic achievements and extend sincere best wishes for all her future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Sarah Clark.
