A RESOLUTION


Honoring Dr. Johnny M. Hunt and designating a day for his recognition; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Dr. Johnny M. Hunt was born on July 17, 1952, in Lumberton, North Carolina; and

WHEREAS, he is married to Janet Allen Hunt of Wilmington, North Carolina, and they have been blessed with two daughters, Deanna Hunt Carswell and Hollie Hunt Hixson; and

WHEREAS, Dr. Hunt has served as the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Georgia, since 1986; and

WHEREAS, the First Baptist Church of Woodstock is one of the fastest growing churches in the Atlanta area and has been blessed to have baptized over 13,300 people and have over 318 people commit to full-time ministry; and

WHEREAS, he has served in conference speaking; mission leadership; church growth, consulting, and revivals; and seminary teaching, to name a few of his accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that Dr. Hunt be honored for his 25 years of service to his community and his congregation.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that Dr. Johnny M. Hunt is honored for his service by designating December 4, 2011, as Johnny Hunt Day in Cherokee County, and all community and church members are invited to congratulate Dr. Hunt for his outstanding accomplishments.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Johnny Hunt.
