A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Dr. Mitchell Todd Williamson; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dr. Mitchell Todd Williamson earned his undergraduate degree Phi Beta Kappa from
Emory University, received his medical degree from the Emory University School
of Medicine, and later served as chief resident at the Emory University School
of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Williamson, a practicing neurologist at North Georgia Neurological Clinic in
Lawrenceville, is board certified in psychiatry, neurology, and clinical
neurophysiology and has published articles in the
American Journal of
Neuroradiology,
American College of
Clinical Toxicology, and the
New England Journal of
Medicine; and
WHEREAS,
a graduate of the Leadership Georgia program, Dr. Williamson has served on the
Gwinnett County Board of Health for five years and currently serves as president
of the Medical Association of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
in his decades of services as a physician, Dr. Williamson has tirelessly and
enthusiastically devoted himself to the medical community and the fight for
patient and physician rights, and he has taken an active role in politics,
promoting state and federal policy on health care; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Williamson has a distinguished history of service and leadership with the
Medical Association of Georgia and the Gwinnett/Forsyth County Medical Society,
has acted as a representative and advocate for patients and his peers, and has
helped to pass meaningful legislation in Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
he has served as second vice president and secretary of the Medical Association
of Georgia, as chairman of the Young Physician Section, as chairman of the
Membership Expansion and Involvement Committee, as a delegate to the MAG House
of Delegates, and as president of the Gwinnett/Forsyth County Medical
Society.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Dr. Mitchell Todd Williamson for his many contributions to health care policy
legislation and to the welfare of the citizens of his community and this
state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Mitchell Todd
Williamson.
