RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Dinah Paris on the occasion of her retirement; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dinah Paris has given 34 years of dedicated service to the State of Georgia
through her work with the Department of Family and Children Services, retiring
from her position as Regional Director in February, 2009; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Paris earned an Associate of Arts degree from Truett-McConnell College, a
Bachelor of Social Work degree from North Georgia College, and a Master of
Business Administration degree from Brenau College; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Paris began her career as a Case Manager in the Fannin County office for the
Department of Family and Children Services and worked her way through the ranks
of the department to County Supervisor, State Program Consultant, State Unit
Chief, Regional Manager, and then to her current position as Regional Director;
and
WHEREAS,
during her tenure as Regional Director, the nine counties under her direction
have experienced improved program performance and have advanced staff
development for ensuring the protection of Georgia families; and
WHEREAS,
during her time as Regional Director, she has been known for her passion,
dedication, and perseverance on behalf of the consumers, staff, and community
stakeholders of the Department of Family and Children Services; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Paris has earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates
for her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable
patience and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the
needs of the citizens of this
state.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that members of this body recognize Dinah Paris on the occasion of her retirement and commend her for her years of service as a voice for families, children, and those who attend to them.
