A RESOLUTION

Commending Crabapple Crossing Elementary School on its designation as a 2010 Georgia School of Excellence; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Crabapple Crossing Elementary School has been selected as a 2010 Georgia School of Excellence by the Department of Education and stands as one of only 22 schools in this state to receive this prestigious honor; and

WHEREAS, Crabapple Crossing Elementary was recognized in the Top 10 Percent category of the competition, serving as a school that is in the top 10 percent in Georgia as measured by assessments in reading and mathematics; and

WHEREAS, the school's 2010 recognition is Crabapple Crossing Elementary's second time as a state award winner as it was also named a School of Excellence in 2004; and

WHEREAS, this superlative elementary school has maintained a proud tradition of excellence in education through the outstanding efforts of the dedicated and hard-working administration, faculty, and staff and the bright, focused, and determined students; and

WHEREAS, by creating a safe and respectful learning environment, Crabapple Crossing Elementary enables students to learn with confidence, experience success, and achieve their maximum potential; and

WHEREAS, the teachers, administration, and staff of Crabapple Crossing Elementary work diligently and conscientiously to ensure students have access to the training and resources necessary to succeed and foster positive relationships and mutual respect; and

WHEREAS, by its example, Crabapple Crossing Elementary has set a standard of achievement and a model of excellence and success for other schools to emulate; and
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia takes great pride in the diligent study and preparation taken by the students of Crabapple Crossing Elementary and looks forward in anticipation to the great achievements this school will accomplish in the future.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize Crabapple Crossing Elementary School on its selection as a 2010 Georgia School of Excellence and commend its outstanding dedication and commitment to excellence in education.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Crabapple Crossing Elementary School Principal George Freiberger.
