A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Chief Warrant Officer Five Reginald "Rick" Hamilton on the
occasion of his retirement; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Chief Warrant Officer Five Reginald "Rick" Hamilton enlisted as a guardian of
this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Army in 1978 and
valiantly and courageously served as a wheeled vehicle mechanic in the A
Battery, 1st Battalion and 81st Field Artillery, 56th Field Artillery Brigade in
Neu-Ulm, Germany; and
WHEREAS,
Chief Warrant Officer Five Hamilton served as a support maintenance officer for
the 203rd Forward Support Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division in Fort Benning,
Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
he has been recognized with numerous honors and accolades during his
distinguished military career, including the Bronze Star, a Meritorious Service
Medal, an Army Commendation Medal, an Army Achievement Medal, a National Defense
Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and numerous others;
and
WHEREAS,
a native of Statesville, North Carolina, Chief Warrant Officer Five Hamilton has
resided in Evans, Georgia, since 2001, where he has served as the senior
maintenance warrant officer for the G-4 United States Army Central Command and
been responsible for maintenance operations in 26 states; and
WHEREAS,
Chief Warrant Officer Five Hamilton is united in love and marriage to his
supportive wife, Tanja, and he has been blessed with two remarkable children,
Re'Keshia and Reginald; and
WHEREAS,
he is a member of the Ordinance Regiment and a recipient of the Distinguished
Order of Samuel Sharpe and the Order of Saint Barbara Awards; and
WHEREAS,
Chief Warrant Officer Five Hamilton embodies the spirit of service, willing to
find meaning in something greater than himself, and it is abundantly fitting and
proper that the outstanding accomplishments and sacrifices of this remarkable
and distinguished American be honored appropriately.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body express
their most profound appreciation for Chief Warrant Officer Five Reginald "Rick"
Hamilton and all members of the United States military who stand ever ready to
lay the ultimate sacrifice upon the altar of freedom, recognize him for 32 years
of extraordinary service to this nation, and wish him a happy and healthy
retirement.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Chief Warrant Officer Five
Reginald "Rick" Hamilton.
