RESOLUTION
Commending
Curtis Hersey, Charlton County High School's 2011 STAR Teacher; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS,
Curtis Hersey has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the
vital role that he has played in the teaching profession and his deep personal
commitment to the education of the students of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Hersey has earned distinction and numerous awards for teaching excellence as
a result of his dedication to his students and his profession and has been
honored as Charlton County High School's 2011 STAR Teacher; and
WHEREAS,
he inspires and challenges his students as a music educator and the school's
band director and was chosen for the prestigious honor of Charlton County High
School's STAR Teacher by Caleb Billington; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of his contributions to the education and welfare of young people
in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the
extraordinary accomplishments and academic achievements of this outstanding
individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
heartily Curtis Hersey, Charlton County High School's 2011 STAR Teacher, and
express to him their most sincere best wishes for continued success in the
future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Curtis Hersey.
