RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Ms. LeTrell Simpson; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. LeTrell Simpson has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours
of her time, talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and
state as evidenced dramatically by her superlative service with the Foothills
Area Health Education Center (AHEC); and
WHEREAS,
Foothills AHEC is a nonprofit organization with the mission to increase the
quality, supply, and distribution of health professionals in 31 North Georgia
counties; and
WHEREAS,
Foothills AHEC is one of six regional centers in Georgia which partners with
community and academic organizations to recruit individuals to the health care
profession, offer training opportunities, and support health practitioners;
and
WHEREAS,
chartered in 1999, Ms. LeTrell Simpson is a founding member of the Foothills
AHEC board of directors and served as chairman for nearly a decade;
and
WHEREAS,
during her tenure with the Foothills AHEC, Ms. Simpson's leadership has been
responsible for the expansion of services to 31 counties with more than 7,000
participants and the recruitment of 192 clinical health practitioners providing
more that 650 clinical training rotations and over 120,000 hours for students in
the region; and
WHEREAS,
dedicated to her community, Ms. Simpson is active in the Gainesville Chamber of
Commerce, the Gainesville-Hall County Junior League, the Gainesville Rotary, and
the First United Methodist Church; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Simpson is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable
reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and it is
abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Ms. LeTrell Simpson for her selfless dedication as chairman of the Foothills
Area Health Education Center and her commitment to her community and the State
of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. LeTrell Simpson.
