A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending the Cliftondale Elementary School family and Principal Dr. Tony
Wilcher; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
located in College Park, Georgia, Cliftondale Elementary School is providing
students with an environment that is conducive to learning and success;
and
WHEREAS,
since its opening in August, 2009, Cliftondale has demonstrated a commitment to
meeting the needs of the community; and
WHEREAS,
under the leadership and guidance of Principal Dr. Tony Wilcher, Cliftondale's
administration has worked diligently and conscientiously with parents, community
leaders, and business partners to establish the school's outstanding foundation;
and
WHEREAS,
in its first year, Cliftondale has achieved much success including the
establishment of a Success PTA, an I MOMS Chapter, an All Pro Dad Chapter, Boy
and Girl Scouts programs, M & M Mentoring Club, Math Club, Art Club, Good
News Club, foreign language programs, Junior Beta Club, Safety Patrol, and
Student Council; and
WHEREAS,
students at Cliftondale have benefitted from the school's Health Fair,
Father-Daughter Dance, Mother-Son Royal Gala, an educational forum, a school
beautification project, and a successful Black History Month Program;
and
WHEREAS,
high expectations for students from faculty, staff, and parents have helped the
dedicated students at Cliftondale Elementary School achieve; and
WHEREAS,
the teachers, administration, and staff of Cliftondale work to ensure students
have access to the training and resources necessary to succeed and foster
positive relationships and mutual respect;
and
WHEREAS, by creating a safe, respectful, and nurturing learning environment, Cliftondale enables students to learn with confidence, experience success, and achieve their maximum potential; and

WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding work of this fine
educational institution be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
Cliftondale Elementary School on its successful first year and commend the
excellent achievements and contributions of the students and staff in making
their school superior.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Cliftondale Elementary
School Principal Dr. Tony Wilcher.
