RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Dr. Beverly Townsend; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Dr. Beverly Townsend has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal
commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as
evidenced by her superlative service as the director of West Central Health
District; and
WHEREAS,
she is passionately working to advocate to the entire community to be aware of
and to access the resources found in public health departments; and
WHEREAS,
it is appropriate that this body join in expressing appreciation to Dr. Townsend
for her outstanding efforts and accomplishments in health.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Dr. Beverly Townsend for her sacrifice, foresight, accomplishments, and
contributions on behalf of health in Georgia and recognize her for the positive
influence she has had upon the lives and futures of the citizens in this
state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Dr. Beverly Townsend.
