A RESOLUTION


Honoring and celebrating the 70th birthday of Pastor Harry J. Riley; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Pastor Harry J. Riley was born on June 30, 1942, in South Carolina; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Riley accepted Jesus as his Lord and savior at World Changers Ministries, now known as World Changers Church International (WCCI), where during his 12 year tenure he served as general manager, overseeing several departments within the rapidly growing ministry; and

WHEREAS, he completed a number of Christian education training classes at WCCI, enrolled in the School of Ministry, where he graduated in 1994, and founded Lakewin, Inc., as an outreach ministry in 1997; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Riley held the first service for Lakewin Christian Center on May 2, 1999, and in January of 2000, the church relocated to its present location, where spiritual guidance is provided weekly through Pastor Riley as he teaches the Word of God; and

WHEREAS, he is united in love and marriage to Kay Parham Riley and is blessed with three remarkable sons and an adored daughter; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Riley is the chaplain for the Riverdale Police Department and an executive board member of the Association of Christian Ministers of Clayton County; and

WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he has made of his life, he makes this world a better place in which to live; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that he be appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time of his life.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Pastor Harry J. Riley for his unparalleled record of community service and his innumerable good works rendered on behalf of persons in need, congratulate him on the wonderful occasion of his 70th birthday, and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Pastor Harry J. Riley.
