BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Chapter 4 of Title 1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to holidays and observances, so as to change the date of Georgia Day; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Chapter
4 of Title 1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to holidays and
observances, is amended by revising Code Section 1-4-17, relating to observance
of "Georgia Day," as follows:
"1-4-17.
September
25
The twelfth
day of February in each year is declared
to be 'Georgia Day,'
as the
anniversary of
celebrating
the landing of the first colonists in Georgia under
Oglethorpe."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
