A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To amend Article 1 of Chapter 1A of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions relative to early care and learning, so as to give a short title to a Code section relating to emergency closure of an early care and education program upon the death of a minor or under certain circumstances; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Article 1 of Chapter 1A of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to general provisions relative to early care and learning, is amended in Code Section 20-1A-13, relating to emergency placement of monitors, emergency closure upon minor's death, and requirements and procedures, by redesignating subsections (a) through (k) as subsections (b) through (l), respectively, and by adding a new subsection (a) to read as follows:
"(a) This Code section shall be known and may be cited as the 'Jace Hester Law.'"

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
