A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Clarence "Pete" McDonald, Jr.; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Clarence "Pete" McDonald, Jr., is the recipient of a Heart of the Community
Award of Honor sponsored by the Redmond Regional Medical Center and produced by
the Heart of the Community Board of Governors; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. McDonald has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the
vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to
the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
a resident of Floyd County since 1977, Mr. McDonald serves as the Vice President
of Economic Development at Coosa Valley Technical College, where he has been
responsible for many programs that have benefited the community;
and
WHEREAS,
dedicated to uplifting the community of Rome and the lives of Floyd County
residents, Mr. McDonald has served with the City of Rome Historic Preservation
Commission, the United Way of Rome, Habitat for Humanity of Rome-Floyd County,
and the Rome Rotary Club and its mentoring program; and
WHEREAS,
his leadership and service have been instrumental as chairman of the Floyd
County Board of Elections and Voter Registration and Hands on Rome and as a
member of the Georgia Economic Developers Association, the Existing Industry
Committees of Gordon and Polk County Chambers of Commerce, and the Greater Rome
Chamber of Commerce and its Economic Development Committee; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. McDonald is united in love and marriage to his wonderful wife, Jane, and
they have been blessed with two remarkable children, Austen and Elizabeth;
and
WHEREAS,
the benevolent and honorable deeds of this distinguished gentleman serve as a
shining example of volunteerism, and the State of Georgia is honored and blessed
to have Mr. McDonald as a citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mr. Clarence "Pete" McDonald, Jr., on his volunteer efforts
and contributions and congratulate him on his recognition as an unsung hero with
a Heart of the Community Award of Honor.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Clarence
"Pete" McDonald, Jr.
