A RESOLUTION


Recognizing the Habersham County 12 and Under All-Star girls basketball team; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Habersham County 12 and Under All-Star girls basketball team has earned a reputation for high standards in athletic achievement, quality of play, and superior sportsmanship; and

WHEREAS, through perseverance, countless hours of practice, and unyielding determination, the Habersham County 12 and Under All-Star girls basketball team proved that their program was a force to be reckoned with; and

WHEREAS, the team recently won the Georgia Recreation and Park Association's Class B title in Chatsworth, Georgia, with a 55-18 victory over Vidalia to finish the state tournament undefeated at 3-0; and

WHEREAS, the 12 and Under team of champions included Marly Black, Kiley Blackburn, Erin Byers, Lainey Gosnell, Kelley Kastner, Baylee McCollough, Ryann Moody, Riley Perry, Natalie Thompson, and Chelsea Weston; and

WHEREAS, the coaching staff pushed these athletes to achieve mental and physical toughness, with astute direction, dedication, and determination displayed by Head Coach Jeff Gosnell and Assistant Coaches Chris Black and Tamora Black; and

WHEREAS, this magnificent team performed with precision throughout the season and have brought great pride and honor to their families, friends, and community.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Habersham County 12 and Under All-Star girls basketball team for their unparalleled achievements and congratulate the players and coaches on their the Georgia Recreation and Park Association's Class B title.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach Jeff Gosnell.
