A RESOLUTION


Commending Nicholas Wayne Shurtz; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most important objective of the General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, Nicholas Wayne Shurtz has shown by the example of his academic accomplishments that the pursuit and attainment of scholastic success is within the reach of the students in this state; and

WHEREAS, this remarkable scholar has earned distinction through his superlative achievements as a student at Stephens County High School where he has been selected to receive the 2009 Stephens Scholars Achievement Award for outstanding results on his college admissions examination; and

WHEREAS, he has personified the selfless dedication, mental agility, verbal adroitness, and personal maturity necessary for superlative academic performance; and

WHEREAS, the state of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this bright and promising young citizen.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body heartily commend Nicholas Wayne Shurtz for his spectacular scholastic endeavors and express to him their sincerest best wishes for continued academic success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Nicholas Wayne Shurtz.
