A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending The Walker School boys soccer team; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, The Walker School boys soccer team has established a tradition of excellence, on the field and off, with academic and athletic accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, this superlative team completed their 2008 season with an amazing perfect record of 21-0; and

WHEREAS, determination and drive led the team to win the AA/A State Championship for the first time since 2001 when they moved from the Fall League to the Spring League; and

WHEREAS, The Walker School boys soccer program won an incredible six state championships while in the Fall League program from 1988 to 2000; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; their superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach Gary Blohm; and

WHEREAS, the superior skills exhibited by the team coupled with the sharp coaching of Mr. Blohm stand as a shining and lofty example of outstanding accomplishments which few schools can hope to attain.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend The Walker School boys soccer team for its unparalleled achievements and extend their sincerest best wishes for continued success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit copies of this resolution to Head Coach Gary Blohm.
