RESOLUTION
Commending
Leadership Cobb; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Cobb County's business and civic communities have partnered with the Cobb County
Chamber of Commerce to encourage the development of community leaders through
the Leadership Cobb Program; and
WHEREAS,
leading by example allows Leadership Cobb participants to directly impact the
Cobb community, and 45 diverse and qualified individuals are selected annually
to participate in this leadership development program currently known as the
Class of 2011, or the best class ever; and
WHEREAS,
Leadership Cobb enhances personal and professional growth, while participants
gain awareness of current issues, community resources, and the social,
political, and economic needs of the community; and
WHEREAS,
program participants develop leadership skills and knowledge through its
programs and retreats while being exposed to a variety of viewpoints that
illustrate the array of economic, political, educational, and social factors at
work in Cobb County; and
WHEREAS,
these leaders are exposed to lectures, dialogues, and service projects on a
variety of topics, including armed forces, business, the arts, politics,
economic development, public safety, and regionalism.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend the efforts of Leadership Cobb for making Cobb County a better
place to live and work.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Leadership
Cobb.
