A RESOLUTION


Honoring the life and memory of Mrs. Anne Whitlow Johnston; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens with the passing of Mrs. Anne Whitlow Johnston on August 3, 2008; and

WHEREAS, a native of Lexington, Kentucky, Mrs. Johnston graduated from Marietta High School, received her bachelor's degree from Kennesaw State University, and earned her master's degree in counseling from the University of West Georgia; and

WHEREAS, this devout woman was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Kennesaw, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, during her life, Mrs. Johnston worked as Assistant Registrar at Kennesaw State University and was a proud member of the Cobb Democratic Women; and

WHEREAS, an avid gardener and dedicated Kentucky Wildcat fan, Mrs. Johnston leaves behind her daughter, Julia; her son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Amy; her siblings, Mary, Dennis, and David; and her beloved grandchildren, Tiffany and Sabrina; and

WHEREAS, all who were privileged to know this loving and generous mother, grandmother, sister, and friend join her family in mourning her loss and cherish the memory of their wonderful times shared with Mrs. Johnston.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body hereby joins in honoring the life and memory of Mrs. Anne Whitlow Johnston and expressing its appreciation of her many contributions to her community, friends, neighbors, and family.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Johnston's family.
