RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Christopher Allen Kinney; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Christopher Allen Kinney has shown by the example of his academic
accomplishments and athletic achievements that the pursuit and attainment of
excellence are within the reach of the students in this state; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Kinney graduated from Stockbridge High School in 2007, where he was
president of the Anime Club and a member of the Beta Club, marching band,
chorus, Science Olympiad team, and Class AAAA 110 meter state championship track
team; and
WHEREAS,
a compassionate young man, Mr. Kinney volunteered with Hospice Atlanta for five
years, helping to uplift the lives of others; and
WHEREAS,
a junior at Georgetown University, Mr. Kinney is a standout member of the
school's track team; and
WHEREAS,
during his freshman year at Georgetown, Mr. Kinney won first place at the Penn
Relays as a member of the 4x100 relay team and placed third in the Big East
Championship for 60 M Hurdles Indoor and third in the 110 M Hurdles Outdoor;
and
WHEREAS,
as a sophomore he competed in both the NCAA Outdoor Championships and the US
Nationals and had another tremendous showing at the Big East Championships,
finishing second in the 60 M Hurdles Indoor and first in the 110 M Hurdles;
and
WHEREAS,
this year Mr. Kinney placed first in the Big East Championship 60 M Hurdles
Indoor and was named an All American in the event for 2010; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Kinney holds the Georgetown records in the 110 M Hurdles, the 60 M Hurdles,
and the 4x100 relay; and
WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this bright and promising young citizen.

NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mr. Christopher Allen Kinney on his amazing athletic
achievements and extend to him best wishes for continued success both on the
track and in the classroom.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr.
Christopher Allen Kinney.
