RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Scott Uhlich; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Scott Uhlich has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the
vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment to
the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Uhlich earned a Bachelor of Science in environmental health from the
University of Georgia and a master's degree in city planning from Georgia Tech
and is a graduate of the CDC Environmental Public Health Leadership Institute;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Uhlich began his environmental health career in 1979 as a sanitarian for the
Gwinnett County Health Department, where he moved up the ranks to senior
sanitarian and registered sanitarian; and
WHEREAS,
he served as the district environmental health director for the Athens Public
Health District and public health engineer and land use program director for the
Department of Public Health's environmental health and injury prevention branch
and is currently director of environmental health for the Department of Public
Health, where he oversees all environmental health program activities;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Uhlich continues to promote the importance of environmental health programs
in public health, and in his position he oversaw the successful implementation
of a new Georgia Food Code and training/standardization of all county
environmental health staff; and
WHEREAS,
he was recognized by the Georgia Public Health Association as the
Environmentalist of the Year in 1995; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Uhlich has served with honor and distinction in the field of public health
and his vision and unyielding commitment have set the standard for public
service; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mr. Scott Uhlich for his efficient, effective, unselfish, and
dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend to him their most
sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Scott
Uhlich.
